Encontrado en la chimenea de una vivienda donde había troncos con agujeros, ya se habían visto un par mas de estos ejemplares en el mismo lugar por lo que una hipótesis valida es que este escarabajo inicie su ciclo de vida en la madera muerta al igual que otros coleópteros.
