Son "inofensivos", en alusión a que no transmiten enfermedades, a lo sumo pican un poco, pero resultan fácil de espantar. Sus larvas acuáticas son predadoras: comen larvas de otros mosquitos y resultan un control biológico natural de los mosquitos realmente problemáticos. Con los insecticidas matamos más de ellos que de los otros que transmiten enfermedades, por lo tanto favorecemos la reproducción de los mosquitos problemáticos. -30.75085 -57.93897
