Libando flores de Palo Borracho (Ceiba speciosa).
Línea negra desde la garganta hasta vientre, con blanco. Pico negro, timoneras internas purpúreas con ápice blanco.
Robusto, en comparación a los otros picaflores que libaban en el mismo arbol.
