Reproducen allí desde el año 2009, año de un fenómeno El Niño desastroso a consecuencia de quemas por el avance de la soja y destrucción de otros ambientes en 2008. Esos Carpinteritos no estaban presentes en la región antes de 2007/2008, llegaron huyendo de la destrucción de sus lugares originales.
