Se trata de un macho adulto tras la muda por la cual perdió parte de su color rojo,y el error se debe a la arraigada y equivocada creencia de que estos ,se marchan antes que los demás integrantes de su especie.- Los juveniles comienzan a agarrar color,mucho más tarde ,en sus zonas de invernada ,y los hacen desde la cabeza hacia abajo del cuerpominetrs mantienen el ventral inferior de color anaranjado,y a veces hasta muy poco visible.-.
