Especie identificada por zona de distribución. Diferenciada de la novedosa B. burruyacuensis por el tamaño de sus hojas (>3 cm) y la fecha de floración temprana, siguiendo la clave sugerida por Gori et al. (2020). https://doi.org/10.1007/s10722-020-01096-y
Diferenciada de B. commutata por fruto ovalado (dicha especie presenta fruto esférico).
