Si bien tiene apariciones por distintos lugares de Argentina en forma accidental o errática (especialmente en Ushuaia y lagunas altoandinas, ya que migra por el Pacífico), desde hace un par de años Guillermo Rost está detectando bandadas que permanecen toda la temporada estival en la costa Atlántica de los alrededores de Comodoro Rivadavia, en mi opinión el mejor lugar de Argentina para conocer esta especie.
