Con esta imagen es casi indiferenciable de Dendropsophus nanus, pero sí se diferencia por el canto, grabado este individuo y otros en el registro:

Muchos machos vocalizando al borde de un "tajamar" (laguna artificial), principalmente estaban en hojas de serruchetas (Eryngium horridum) al borde o cerca del agua, reproducen allí.
