This photograph corresponds to a record of Black Rail (Laterallus jamaicensis) made in Lomas de Asia, Lima, Peru on 11/10/2018. The photograph was published by Rutger Koperdraad and is part of the EcoRegistros biodiversity database.
One adult and three or four all black chicks. First seen crossing the path. Then, one adult seen well through the binoculars (gray front side, brown back with white spots, barred vent). Finally, two very bad photos of a chick, which I post anyway because this concerns an unusual observation. Subspecies Laterallus jamaicensis murivagans.
