Es una especie bastante escasa. Personalmente la había buscado en varios de mis anteriores viajes al NOA, y recién en este último se me dió. En las inmediaciones de Santa Ana de Valle Grande pudimos ver una pareja que realizaba vuelos y se alimentaba confiadamente.
