El Pato Malibú (Anas bahamensis L., 1758) es
una especie ampliamente distribuida y común
a nivel local en las costas continentales e islas
del Caribe (Carboneras 1992, Restall et al.
2007, BirdLife International 2012). En
Venezuela se le ha registrado en los estados
Falcón, Aragua, Sucre, Anzoátegui, y en el
ámbito insular en el Archipiélago Los Roques
y la isla de Margarita (Hilty 2003).
El Pato Malibú se le ha señalado anidando en
Ecuador (Marchant 1960) y Surinam
(Haverschmidt 1986
