En 1909 Hartert y Venturi reportaron que se reproducen en Laguna Los Porongos, dpto.Rivadavia, Santiago del Estero, alli encontraron un nido.
Ahora puedo aportar datos,despues de 107 años de ese registro,su reproduccion en Santiago del Estero,al registrar una pareja con pichones.
Al encontrar a la pareja con el pichon,senti una gran alegria,por saber que se reproducen aqui,pero al ver alrededor,que es un lugar sin proteccion,donde los cazadores practican tiro,solo espero que crezca y emigre.
