Esta fue la primera fotografía que le tome al carpintero del cardón, fue tomada a fines del 2009.
Pensé que se trataba de un individuo vagante pero en el 2010 lo observe en algunas oportunidades más y ya eran dos.
A principios de este año mientras caminaba por el mismo monte primero los escucho y luego se aparecen 5 de ellos, esta nueva observación me lleva a pensar que eta especie se está reproduciendo en las islas.
