Posada sobre un terebinto o aroeira (Schinus areira) que segúnDemaio, Karlin y Medina (2002) Árboles nativos del centro de Argentina. Ed. L.O.L.A. es el único árbol exótico considerado autóctono.
Este "falso pimiento" es de origen peruano, pero era considerado como árbol sagrado por los Incas, tiene muchas propiedades medicinales, además alimenticias y hasta hacían brebajes ricos con sus frutos (que se ven en la foto). Aportado por Carlos M. Grassini
