The pampas deer
06:56 min
In the past it was one of the most common animals in the Pampas grasslands. Today one of the rarest, unknown and unfortunately one of the most threatened. At the beginning of the 20th century it was hunted for its hides, then cattle arrived and later the pasture gave way to crops. In these times, wild pigs, feral dogs, other introduced deer and poaching, among other problems, have cornered the species that lives in small isolated and endangered populations.
