Description: Lead-colored, darker on the head, with a whitish belly, brownish flanks and subcaudal, white wing band, very large yellow bill curved at the maxilla. The female can be easily distinguished from the females of other Sporophila by its large dark curved bill and its contact vocalization.Geographic Distribution: Southeastern Brazil, eastern Paraguay, and northeastern Argentina (Misiones).Habitat: Tacuaral and capuera areas.Diet: Seeds.Breeding: Builds an open-cup-shaped nest on forest edges.
