Recognition Key for Teius:1a) Above the light dorsolateral longitudinal band, there is a series or row of irregular dark spots, often anastomosed, which generally cannot be counted with certainty. Adult males with bright blue bellies: Teius teyou.1b) Above the light dorsolateral longitudinal band, there are dark spots that can be individually recognized, generally rectangular, square, or triangular in shape, which can be counted relatively easily: 2) 2a) 10 to 15 dark spots on the light dorsolateral line, counting from the region above the tympanum to the base of the tail: Teius oculatus (both males and females observed). 2b) 16 to 22 dark spots on the light dorsolateral line, counting from the supratympanic region to the base of the tail: Teius suquiensis (only parthenogenetic females).Author of this compilation: Carlos Grassini
