Solenopsis saevissima is strictly tropical, it is not found in Buenos Aires, nor probably in Argentina. The common species in Buenos Aires and its surroundings are S. richteri and S. quinquecuspis, although others like S. macdonaghi and S. quinquecuspis also occur nearby, in Santa Fe.
