Conservation Status according to BirdLife International: Least Concern

Description: Hood, back, and chest of a striking orange color (ember), ventral and subcaudal region yellow. Back, wings, and short tail are black. Large eye with a white iris. The female is greenish and retains the large eye with a white iris.

Geographic Distribution within Argentina: Northern Misiones, with a curious focal distribution of limited territories.

Habitat: Mid to upper canopy in both open and dark forests.

Behavior: Males often group in pairs or more to perform rituals to compete for females, hence the name "Dancer". Very territorial, passive, and hidden, with a loud and melodic voice.

Breeding: Delicate nest, hemispherical and placed at low heights, where they lay brown-spotted eggs.
