Some authors divide the genus Efferia into several other genera, such as Porasilus, Albibarbefferia, and Nerax. However, other authors consider some of these genera as subgenera, or even as synonyms. To safeguard these differences, this entry includes all records of members of the ´Efferia genus group´ that cannot be identified at the specific level.
