el macho, posado en un sitio despejado al borde la laguna, por encima del nivel de agua, sobre unas totoras tumbadas, emitió una serie de graznidos, la hembra que estaba forrajeando a unos 3 metros fue en su dirección, cuando llegó al sitio donde estaba el macho este se agachó mostrando las plumas de la cola, la hembra se inclinó con el pico apuntando hacia adentro y ocurrió la cópula, luego la hembra siguió camino y el macho permaneció en el sitio
