Zimbabwe is located in southern Africa, bordering South Africa to the south, Botswana to the west and southwest, Zambia to the northwest, and Mozambique to the east and northeast. The country has an area of approximately 390,757 square kilometers and a population of around 15 million people. The capital and largest city is Harare, located in the northeast of the country. Zimbabwe´s geography is diverse, with a variety of ecoregions and environments that include savannas, forests, mountains, and valleys. The country´s terrain is generally undulating, with some mountainous areas such as the Matobo Hills and the Eastern Highlands. The climate is tropical, with warm temperatures and seasonal rainfall. The best time to visit Zimbabwe is during the dry season, which runs from May to October, when the weather is more pleasant and the roads are more accessible.

The tourist infrastructure in Zimbabwe is well-developed, with a range of accommodation and transportation options available. Visitors can access the country through Harare International Airport, which offers direct flights to several cities in Africa and Europe. There are also roads that connect Zimbabwe to neighboring countries, allowing visitors to arrive by car or bus. Zimbabwe´s national parks and conservation areas, such as Hwange National Park and Matobo National Park, offer a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, nature observation, and safaris. However, it is essential to obtain the necessary permits and authorizations before visiting these areas and to respect the regulations and restrictions in place to protect the environment and wildlife.

In terms of logistics, visitors should plan ahead and consider the opening and closing hours of the parks and conservation areas, as well as the weather and terrain conditions. It is recommended to hire an experienced guide or tour operator to help navigate the country and ensure that regulations and restrictions are met. Additionally, it is crucial to take safety and precautionary measures, such as carrying sufficient water and food, and protecting oneself from the sun and insects. Overall, Zimbabwe is an exciting and rewarding destination for nature lovers, with its diverse ecoregions and environments, and its rich variety of landscapes and outdoor experiences.
