Spain

General Information

Spain is a country located in southwestern Europe, occupying most of the Iberian Peninsula. It borders France and Andorra to the north, the Mediterranean Sea to the east, the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean to the south, and Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The geography of Spain is very diverse, with a wide range of ecosystems and environments, from the Pyrenees and the Cantabrian Mountains to the plains of the Central Plateau and the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts. The climate in Spain varies from the Mediterranean climate in the south and east to the oceanic climate in the north and the continental climate in the interior. The vegetation is also very varied, with oak and cork oak forests in the south, beech and oak forests in the north, and steppes and scrublands in the more arid areas.

There are also important seaports, such as the Port of Valencia and the Port of Bilbao. The network of roads and highways in Spain is very extensive and well-maintained, making it easy to access different parts of the country. To make nature observations, it is possible to access national and natural parks, such as Doñana National Park in Andalusia, Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park in Aragon, and Sierra de Guadarrama National Park in the Community of Madrid.
