En Villa de Merlo camino al Filo (limite San Luis/Cordoba) se encuentran gran variedad de Yales, a mitad de recorrido a los 1450 msnm (sector mirador del Sol) siempre se encuentran los Yal Platero, sobre ramas, en el suelo entre el pastizal y tambien en huecos de la montaña.
Las hembras tienen gran parecido entre ellas, pero esta especie se le notan las aureolas blancas en su cola y mas notable aun en oportunidad de su vuelo.
