Los ejemplares coinciden con imágenes de Gynaikothrips de internet (https://bugguide.net/node/view/173044; https://www.biodiversidadvirtual.org/insectarium/Gynaikothrips-ficorum-img545819.html; https://colombia.inaturalist.org/taxa/270786-Gynaikothrips-ficorum) Según Curis et al (2015, Rev. Soc. Ent. Arg. 74, 85-88) en Argentina hay dos especies del género, G. uzeli (Misiones y Corrientes) y G. ficorum (Bs As y Santa Fé). Los ejemplares fueron encontrados dentro de hojas plegadas de Ficus
