Su planta huésped en la provincia de Entre Ríos es el espinillo (Vachellia caven).
En diciembre es posible hallar sus casales en cópula, o a las hembras buscando los mejores frutos para oviponer.
Pero primero el insecto explorará con cuidado el fruto que selecciona, para asegurarse que no haya sido ocupado con anterioridad. Solo después hará pequeños orificios en el tegumento con sus mandíbulas, para finalmente introducir su oviscapto y desovar junto a las semillas.
