Determinada con la clave para géneros que hay en "A taxonomic revision of certain genera of the tribe Alydini (Heteroptera: Coreidae)" (Schaffner, 1964). Para diferenciarla de cualquier otro género de la subfamilia presente en la región neotropical, basta chequear que las tibias posteriores estén curvadas, que la distancia entre los ocelos sea menor que la distancia entre el ocelo y el ojo, y que el margen posterior del pronoto a la altura del escutelo sea recto.
