Se reproduce en las palmeras pindó (Syagrus romanzoffiana) del lugar. Especie que resultaba relativamente común de ver al atardecer, actualmente el uso indiscriminado de agroquímicos y la destrucción de vegetación nativa han reducido sus poblaciones.
