We explore Reserva Puertos in Escobar, where the southernmost stable populations of several forest bird species from northeastern Buenos Aires live. Among the notable species found here are the Variable Antshrike (Thamnophilus caerulescens), Buff-browed Foliage-gleaner (Syndactyla rufosuperciliata cabanisi), Mottle-cheeked Tyrannulet (Phylloscartes ventralis), and White-browed Warbler (Myiothlypis leucoblephara). Although there are records of these species farther south within northeastern Buenos Aires, they are usually sporadic observations. The significance of Reserva Puertos lies in hosting the southernmost stable populations known for these birds.
