Peru is located on the western coast of South America, bordering Ecuador and Colombia to the north, Brazil and Bolivia to the east, Chile to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Peru´s geography is very diverse, with valleys, plateaus, mountains, and plains, creating a wide range of landscapes and ecosystems.

The Peruvian coast is an arid and semi-arid region, with little vegetation and scarce precipitation, while the highlands are a mountainous region with valleys and plateaus, where many of the country´s most important cities are located. The Peruvian Amazon rainforest is one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet, with a wide range of ecosystems, from tropical forests to savannas and wetlands. To access these regions, there are several routes and paths, some of which are paved and others are trails and paths that require four-wheel drive vehicles or hiking.

The city of Lima is the starting point for many of the routes that lead to the different regions of the country, and from there you can take flights, buses, or taxis to reach the different localities. In terms of infrastructure, Peru has a network of hotels, hostels, and accommodations that range from budget-friendly options to luxury, although in some rural areas, the offer is more limited. There are also a variety of restaurants and eateries that serve traditional Peruvian dishes, and in the larger cities, you can find international options. In terms of services, most cities and towns have access to basic services such as drinking water, electricity, and communication, although in some rural areas, these services may be more limited.

Peru´s geography and climate also affect the availability of water and air quality, which is essential to consider when planning a visit.
