Synonyms: Diomedea cauta.

Subspecies:


Consider that records from field observations (except for specimens found dead) can be either Thalassarche cauta or T. steadi, as they are practically indistinguishable in field observations except for some adults of T. cauta. For more information, see Savigny and Carbajal (2015).
