Para el jilguero dorado (Sicalis flaveola) el sistema me requiere especificar si se trata de un macho o una hembra. Sin embargo, la subespecie S. flaveola valida, que se encuentra en el norte del Peru con una poblacón asilvestrada en Lima, no tiene un diformismo marcado. Peru aves dice al respecto: "The male Saffron Finch is bright yellow with a bright orange forehead; the female is slightly duller" (http://www.peruaves.org/thraupidae/saffron-finch-sicalis-flaveola/). Birds of Peru (Schulenberg et al.) no menciona diferencias entre macho y hembra.
